The song is called "Shotgun Rider," and before you say to yourself, "Oh, great. Another 'hot girl truck song," let me assure you, this one is anything but that.

Its steady, laid-back groove is set to sweet lyrics like, "I don't ever want to wake up looking into someone else's eyes/A new girl putting on her makeup before dinner on Friday night. ... No, I don't ever want to know no other shotgun rider beside me singing to the radio." You're going to smile and heave a contented little sigh when you hear it.

Why? Because it's the perfect illustration of everyday love, which is the best kind of love -- the kind of love that pays attention to the finer details, the little things. Because we all know it's those little moments that leave the biggest imprints on our hearts.

And that vivid, lyrical imagery is just one of the single's many elements that had McGraw hooked.

"This is one of those songs that really paints a picture and sets a mood," he says. "In my mind, you look over and see the person that you love next to you sitting in the front seat, and you think, 'How good do I have it? Life is perfect.'"

If life is anything like this song then, yes, it sounds like a life that's pretty much perfect. This song is pretty perfect, too, and to be completely honest, I just love the fact that, much like his last single "Meanwhile Back at Mama's," this one sounds like "classic Tim." It's so genuine and boasts the sort of romantic vulnerability he delivers with such ease and comfort.

McGraw says "Shotgun Rider" is a pretty good indication of what to expect of his forthcoming album, Sundown Heaven Town.

"There's a certain warmth to this song and several others like it that really establish the tone for the whole album," he said.
